The teacher asked her students to interview each other to discover the best qualities about them. Pennies came together to make some sense (cents). Stephanie was paired with Charles. But she found out that his father beats him. The accidents are actually beatings.

Charles was a jerk or bully because his father is. He tells her about his father but asked her to promise not to tell others. She wanted to keep that promise but ended up spilling the beans to Jesse.

Michelle got mad at dad for being punished for calling a joke hotline. Stephanie yelled at her because she is wrong.
She cried, "You don't know how lucky you are." Dad cares. He does it out
of love. Dad does not beat us like some parents do. Jesse asked, "Where
is this coming from?"

Stephanie asked Jesse, "What will happen if we tell others that Charles is beaten by his father?" Jesse responded, "What will happens if we don't?" Jesse called authorities. Later, Charles was put up in foster care.
