''doors closes'' ...really? Fred's English level is as poor as Joey's. Oh wait...they are the same person. Enough said! glasses emoticon
Joey Arnold Duncan James,
yes, people say "DOORS CLOSE" but why not emphasize the word "CLOSE" by
adding a letter to make it more active and ongoing like as it is like
"ING" gerund.... plus, it is a quote and people do not always talk in
book English...

Joey Arnold Duncan teaches book English
Oatmeal teaches street English or bad English and things that I may hear people say regardless of whether they are right or not

Joey Arnold Duncan James,
I changed my mind. I stand by what I wrote but decided to go with book
English. However, what I wrote is ok if I was simply quoting a person
who talks wrongly

You were wrong. You corrected it because I told you what it should be. glasses emoticon
Joey Arnold Duncan James,
yes, I am so wrong with everything and that is why I fail so much and I
learn from failures and leaders fail and they get back up and try again
and try again and try again and that is me

What do you mean by 'book English'. Academic English is English. Oh my! glasses emoticon

Joey Arnold Duncan James, right, basically.... thanks.........
Joey Arnold Duncan James right academical book English is more traditional & less flexible to slang or to the way the younger generations use English.... street English mostly refers to the kind of English uneducated people use; I tend to write in an uneducated way because I am too much of an anarchist
Joey Arnold Doors closes on me as I fail, but I get back up and try again and again and again and I learn from my mistakes or if I don't then I make them again and again until I do learn enough to elevate to higher levels

You write in an uneducated way because you are. You are not a teacher, if you do not follow academic paradigms. That is the basis of all teaching. There is a difference between teaching and trying to teach. This is why you sleep in fast food restaurants and have no job. glasses emoticon
