John Beck It always baffled me how completely oblivious Vietnamese are when it comes to spotting a crazy (or creepy) foreigner. If they know and don't care, it's even worse, because it tells a lot about them. There are red flags all over the moment you see Joey, not to mentions the crazy stuff he posts. Yet he has almost 5000 friends, is constantly around students and girls. No doubt there are countless girls willing to date him. No one would even go near this mental patient in the west, yet here, he is the popular guy.

This tells more about the low personal standards of so many Vietnamese than about him. Mental patient, crazy, creepy, old,.. as long as it is foreign they're ok (or even date) with it.

Hopefully as the country gets richer, people more educated and personal (& dating) standards rising, the freaks like this guy will be seen just like they should. Until then, the south east asia will remain the paradise destination for so many of the westerns (male) rejects.

But I have found that some of the wackiest, corn-dog teachers I have encountered also are some of the most successful. Life isn't fair, is it? Teachers are serious about education. Ann Le Vietnamese women are not ugly, terrible like that, dont make us look ugly in foreigners' eyes. I dont know about Joey or An Lai but as for me Joeys face on his profile picture cant be the face of a teacher.
