I'm
in a black hole. Money I make is sucked into that vortex. I'm a
freelance English Teacher, Tutor, in Saigon, Vietnam. I'm an American,
born 1985. I'm a missionary, volunteer. I work all the time for people. I
make some money. But people number one, money number two. Moved to VN
in 2012.
But I'm in a black hole. My plan is to save money & take a bus to Cambodia. I could try to get a letter from a company or agency in Vietnam that can sponsor me which may allow me to buy a new visa for Vietnam in Cambodia.

But when I go to the border, they may not like how long I have been overstaying, since my visa expired on Wednesday, the 9th of December, 2015, last year, about five months ago now, as of the end of April, or now May 2016.

It is hard for foreigners who only overstay an hour late or maybe a day late, or a few days late, or maybe a week late but probably not later than that normally. Foreigners pay about $10 or up $30 per day they overstay. There may be other fines added to that as well.

Like I said before, I could try to get an invitation letter which can allow me to make a new VN visa in Cambodia and that can help me return to Vietnam.

And Vietnamese law says it requires foreigners to be sponsored by Vietnamese people, companies, agencies. That is what I read on a Vietnamese website in Vietnamese talking about Vietnamese law. And Vietnamese people say that it is true.

But it might be too late. I may have overstayed too long. And I may not be able to find a sponsor who is willing to risk their reputation on me. Because the government can get mad at them, fine, jail, kill them... or it may cost me more than $1,000 or maybe $2,000 to fix this black hole. I call it a black hole because all the money I make now will probably be sucked into that black hole. I could be fined or jailed or worse maybe. Maybe I am being dramatic. But it is hard to say what will happen.

I can be blacklisted for overstaying for 5 months as opposed to only a few days. But travel agencies said I was blacklisted already when I tried to extend my DN business visa in the year 2015 before my visa expired and then during and after in December and after that too.

If I was rich, I would have a lawyer help. My plan is to stay in Vietnam & leave in the summer at the soonest.

But I should try to go somewhere for work cuz the border may take all my money when I leave VN. And Vietnam may never let me return to Vietnam ever again, or I may have to wait a month, a year, or five years or something...... So, I will try my best to figure out where I can go. If you have ideas. Tell me. I know, I can go to America. But I would like more specifics before going. And I am afraid of Muslims in America.
